Meet Taylor Dichsen, MS, TLLP, PA

Picture1.png

As a therapist, Taylor works predominately with youth and families experiencing stress or conflict, trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental diagnoses, such as ADHD, and chronic pain. Taylor uses an integrated approach for therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and psychodynamic approaches. She enjoys meeting each patient where they are at and adapting therapy interventions to meet their unique needs and personal goals.

Taylor is currently a clinical psychology doctoral student at Palo Alto University (PAU). She has a background in social work and a master’s degree in Clinical Child and School Psychology. Taylor has worked with children and families in a variety of settings, including foster care, schools, and community mental health agencies.

Through her experiences, she has developed a passion for viewing patients’ challenges in the context of their lives and personal experiences, recognizing that cultural and familial influences impact each patient in a unique way. She enjoys collaborating with families to develop a treatment plan specifically tailored to the patient’s needs and values, with an intentional focus on personal identities and sense of self.

In addition to her roles as a therapist and student, Taylor is a member of the Early Intervention Clinic (EIC), a research lab at PAU. In the EIC, she provides trauma-focused co-therapy to adults who have experienced a recent trauma and work with them to decrease their trauma symptoms. Her research focuses on factors that facilitate trauma recovery and ways to adapt therapy to best provide relief to patients who desire alternative therapeutic approaches. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking, playing with her puppy, and tasting and preparing new foods.

Taylor is supervised by Dr. Sepsey.
